about
His businesses have included a 5-star Game farm in Mabalingwe, co-owning a 1-star pub in Johannesburg with two friends, and a horse transportation business where he would drive yearlings across South Africa to their new homes.
He’s even worked for a gangster (allegedly though as he was never caught!).
He’s made money, lost it, and made it again, creating extraordinary tales along the way.
One night over a beer in his pub in Johannesburg, Mike thought about getting a line tattooed on his arm for every close shave he’s had. This idea was met with much hilarity from his patrons, who joked that his arms and legs would be covered in ink!
Mike’s personal life is just as full, with three marriages, five children, three step-children, and now blessed with eight grandchildren.
His family obviously inherited his globe-trotting ways, living all over the world, including England, USA, South Africa, Thailand, China, and Australia, where Mike once again calls home.
Not one for sitting still, Mike is also a fisherman, hunter, surfer, SCUBA diver, water skier, plays polocrosse and has a black belt in karate.
Fuelled by his Irish heritage, and a lifelong love of storytelling, he’s always writing short stories and poems, and writes daily in his journal from his home that’s within walking distance of some of the most beautiful beaches south of Perth, Western Australia.

“The best stories are lived before they are written”
No longer content with regaling his grandchildren with his tales, Mike is now pouring all his wild adventures into gripping crime thrilling novels. Mike’s biggest literary achievement is in the form of Computer Forensic Analyst Jack Rhodes, a highly skilled professional who constantly finds himself drawn into the dangerous underbelly of San Francisco’s criminal world. It’s Mike’s own extraordinary lived experiences that have forged the authentic world where Jack operates.
Within those pages you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of the thrilling stories he has truly lived.
